Dates and what we could not confirm

Next-round dates are not officially stated for most schemes, so we do not guess them. We could not open current pages for DAAD (Germany) or the Chinese Government Scholarship, so we confirm those at your consultation. For Korea, see study in South Korea.

Masters scholarships for Pakistani students: Chevening

Chevening is for one-year master’s study. It covers tuition, flights, visa cost and a living stipend. You need two years of work experience (2,800 hours) and an unconditional offer from one of three courses you apply to. Its own English test was removed in 2020, but your university’s requirement still applies.

Commonwealth Master’s scholarship

The Commonwealth Master’s covers tuition, return flights and a stipend of £1,712 a month (£2,000 in London). Pakistan is eligible, and you apply to the CSC and a nominator. The CSC says it requires no IELTS of its own. We could not confirm who the Pakistan nominator is. See our UK scholarships guide.

Fulbright for Pakistani students

Fulbright through USEFP covers tuition, books, airfare, a stipend and insurance. It needs the GRE General test and, for selected candidates, TOEFL. A master’s needs 16 years of education. See study in the USA.

Undergraduate scholarships abroad: Hungary and Japan

Stipendium Hungaricum covers tuition fully, with a stipend and housing contribution. HEC listed 200 bachelor’s, 70 one-tier master’s, 100 master’s and 30 PhD places for 2026/27. See study in Hungary.

MEXT research students receive a monthly allowance of JPY 143,000 to 145,000, a tuition waiver and airfare. See study in Japan.

Scholarships in Ireland, Italy and Finland

The Government of Ireland scholarship is partial: €10,000 and a tuition waiver. Italy’s MAECI grant does not cover regular bachelor’s degrees, and we could not confirm that Pakistan is on its eligible list. Tampere University in Finland offers 50% tuition scholarships that are highly selective. See Ireland, Italy and Finland.

Scholarships without IELTS?

Only the Commonwealth Master’s says it needs no IELTS of its own. Chevening dropped its own test, but your university sets one. Fulbright needs TOEFL. Others do not state a test or leave it to the university. See study abroad without IELTS and English tests.

Schemes that do not suit most applicants

The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships are for research fellows and PhD students only, with Pakistan’s deadline on 31 October 2026. HEC need-based scholarships are for study in Pakistan. Vanier in Canada is archived. We would rather tell you than waste your time.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between fully funded and partial scholarships?

Fully funded awards such as Chevening cover tuition, flights, visa cost and a stipend. Partial awards such as GREAT (£10,000) and the Government of Ireland scholarship (€10,000 and a fee waiver) cover only part of the cost.

Which countries give fully funded scholarships?

Chevening and the Commonwealth Master’s (UK), Fulbright (USA) and MEXT (Japan) are fully funded, and Stipendium Hungaricum covers tuition with a stipend.

Can I get a scholarship without IELTS?

Only the Commonwealth Master’s says it requires no IELTS of its own. Others depend on your university or need another test.

When should I apply for scholarships?

Most rounds closed between January and October 2026, and next dates are not announced. Prepare early: work experience, degree results and test scores.

Is Chevening open now?

No. The 2027-28 round closed in October 2026.

Can you guarantee a scholarship?

No. The scholarship provider decides. We check your eligibility and documents.
