How the Student’s Pass works
- You must be accepted onto an approved full-time course – part-time, evening or weekend courses are not eligible.
- You apply to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) for a Student’s Pass using the registration details your institution provides.
- For private education institutions, apply 2–3 months before your course starts; a non-refundable S$45 processing fee applies. Universities send their own timelines.

Working while you study
Full-time students at approved institutions (mainly universities and polytechnics) can work up to 16 hours a week during term without a work pass, and during vacations. Exchange students cannot work.
