How the French student visa works
- Apply to French institutions through Études en France with Campus France Pakistan.
- Complete the Campus France process, including an interview.
- Once accepted, apply for a long-stay student visa (VLS-TS).
- Within 3 months of arriving, validate your VLS-TS online – it then works as your residence permit.
Costs to plan for
- Resources you must show: at least €615 a month.
- Visa fee: €50 for Études en France countries.
- Tuition: from a few hundred euros a year at public universities to over €10,000 at some schools.
- Social security: registration is free for non-European students under 28.
Working while you study
You can work up to 964 hours a year (60% of full-time) without a separate work permit.
