Faith and community

The University of Sunderland has an Interfaith Chaplaincy Centre and prayer rooms at St Peter’s campus, and dedicated Muslim student facilities on the ground floor of Helen McArdle House at City Campus. We could not confirm the Pakistani or Muslim share of the city from a 2021 source, so we give none.

Work and sectors

The council’s business site names advanced manufacturing (Nissan and the IAMP site), financial, professional and business services, software, digital and creative, electrification (the AESC gigafactory), film and retail and hospitality. A planned film studio is listed as planned, not open.

Recruitment from Pakistan

The University of Sunderland’s Pakistan page contains no statement limiting recruitment, and we found no official statement from any university on that. We saw press reports from December 2025 but did not open them, so we do not repeat them. Confirm with the university that it is accepting applicants from Pakistan for your intake before you pay any deposit.

What we could not confirm

  • The Pakistani share of Sunderland’s population.
  • The Sunderland International Airshow dates.
  • Metro and Nexus fares.
